Tangent to the Ellipse
In geometry, a straight line is said to be the tangent to an ellipse it this straight line meets the ellipse at precisely one, which is shown in the given diagram.

When a straight line cuts the ellipse from two distinct points is known as the secant line, and the third scenario is when a given straight line neither touches nor cuts the ellipse. In the next few tutorials we shall discuss the tangent line and secant line to the ellipse.
